Relaxation Skill 1: Deep/Controlled Breathing
Deep breathing is considered one of the best ways to lower stress in your body. When you breathe deeply it sends a message to your brain to calm yourself and relax
Relaxation Skill 2: Progressive Muscle Relaxation
This exercise teaches you how to relax groups of muscles in a certain order. when your body is physically relaxed it is difficult to feel anxious
Relaxation Skill 3: Visualisation
This is the act of imagining yourself in a peaceful environment. by transforming yourself there mentally you are able to calm your mind and body
If you have any problems sleeping these exercises may be helpful and can be practised while lying in bed.
